The Artist's Way
Expanding Creative Vision

WHAT: This is a 7-week, intensive workshop  based on “The Artist’s Way”  by Julia Cameron. The purpose of this  workshop is to explore our creative path, to identify and remove the blocks to making better art, writings, poetry and  to open doors to advancing our creativity. I chose to alter this typically 12-week course  to seven weeks to accommodate schedules and to make it more accessible to a wider audience. However, by shortening the schedule to just seven weeks, this in turn requires intensive work to concentrate on the process. I limit each workshop to only 10 people at a time to ensure that attention can be paid to the process.

IT’S ABOUT: This workshop is about getting to the real driving force behind creating art: your HEAD~HEART~IMAGINATION~INSPIRATION. When you engage this process your art begins to clearly and consistently reflect a quality, style and an emotional impact that you haven’t seen before.  This  workshop is all about removing those blocks and opening doors to your own inherent creative process.

WHAT  HAPPENS: In  this  workshop we move through the chapters and execute various exercises designed to focus and expand upon your inherent creativity.

Composition:
 The Language of Imaging

WHAT: This is a 2-day, weekend, Saturday + Sunday workshop devoted solely to learning and practicing composition.

IT’S ABOUT: The elements of composition is the "language" of imaging and through your knowledge of this language you will be able to express precisely what you wish to communicate to your viewer. And it's your ability to engage these elements of composition into your imaging that will either make or break your photography. This 2-day workshop is focused solely on learning and practicing these compositional elements in the field.

WHAT HAPPENS: The workshop takes place in an outdoor setting (weather permitting) and the workshop size is limited to only 10 participants. This class limitation allows us to concentrate on the process of learning the 15 elements of composition, to ask and answer questions and to practice and understand each element in turn.

WHO: These workshops attract all skill levels because this is about learning and understanding the language of imaging and  then conveying what you see to your final image and therefore communicating with your viewer...and this is fundamental to image creation regardless of a photographer's present skill level. Materials are provided

Developing Your Own
Photographic Style

WHAT: This is a three-week, one night per week, workshop focused completely on developing your own photographic style.

IT’S ABOUT: Creating one's own style in photography is one of the hallmarks of an accomplished photographer. But it's the actual acknowledging and creation of that style that is so elusive to so many. So how do you start down that path? That is precisely what this workshop is all about.

WHAT HAPPENSThrough a series of exercises, discussions, quality critiques and thorough exam of each photographer's work, you will see and understand what and how your individual style begins to emerge. These workshops are limited to only 10 participants. By limiting the number of participants, greater attention can be paid not only to the process of understanding style but due attention can be paid to each photographer's work.

WHO: These workshops attract all skill levels. This is about developing your own unique photographic style and it applies to any and all photographers regardless of your present skill level.
